The ADR safety sticker and the UN marking serve to mark goods that may pose certain risks. By marking dangerous substances during transport, all transport participants are informed about the possible risks of the transported goods.
The ADR marking is used to mark vehicles or containers transporting dangerous goods. This is a security requirement that helps identify vehicles and goods being transported.
The ADR marking must be in the shape of a square at an angle of 45°, i.e. in the shape of a diamond. Dangerous goods are divided into nine hazard classes, and each hazard class defines the type of hazard that is associated with the goods marked with the ADR symbol.
Hazard characteristics:
- danger of exothermic decomposition at elevated temperatures, contact with other substances (such as acids, heavy metal compounds or amines), friction or shock
- this may result in the evolution of noxious and flammable gases or vapors or spontaneous combustion
